💡 Spotlight on Talent: Long-Term Success
Alma Sazo-Ramirez, Senior Paralegal, Lawtrades
Background
Meet Alma! Originally from Guatemala, she grew up in Lynn, Massachusetts, and received her paralegal certificate from Northeastern University after pursuing journalism at Framingham State College. Alma began her career working in the District Attorney's Office as a Victim Witness Advocate assisting attorneys with Spanish-speaking victims and witnesses of crime. She later transitioned to the private sector area of law with a focus on Commercial Real Estate and Corporate Law.
Path to Lawtrades
In 2019, Alma left a top law firm position to freelance because she wanted to work as a consultant while building her own freelance company. She wanted to land stable engagements while gaining expertise across many areas in law. Lawtrades provided a good opportunity to reach her goal. As one of our seasoned vets, she’s been on the platform for over 2 years!
Success with Lawtrades
With Lawtrades, Alma has been able to score several engagements (and worked over 317 hours!). Her biggest accomplishment? Getting five engagements during one month and both finishing the projects and turning in products that made her clients happy. And, she’s not stopping there. She’s looking forward to landing more engagements and getting to know more of the clients who engage Lawtraders.
Flexible Working Hours
At Lawtrades, Alma has focused her time doing what she loves—spending time with family and friends (who live all over the globe!) even if it's through video calls or group calls.
“Lawtrades lets me have time for both work and my passions because a lot of the engagements provide flexible work schedules and I am able to schedule myself around the bandwidth of time I have available for work and my passions.”
At Lawtrades, it’s never been easier to go freelance. Take charge of your legal career by choosing who you work with, what you want to work on, and when you want to work.
